I am the designated dreamer of this summit. My job this morning is to take you all to the mountaintop, to gaze upon an Auckland where education is succeeding for everyone, not just 70 or 80% of our richest and whitest and most fortunate, as is happening now, but everyone, no matter where in Auckland they happen to have landed.
I presume we’re all here because we believe that this is a desirable goal. I hope you will go further and agree (as Mayor Brown and John Langley have indicated) that it is an absolutely critical goal. Auckland’s future depends upon it. OUR futures – yours and mine and our children’s -- depend upon it...
