Last round of 2011 Fulbright grants

Fulbright New Zealand invites applications for its final round of NZ-US exchange awards for 2011. Two of the awards are for visits to the US to share work to American audiences; the third is to host a US expert at your institution.
The following awards are available for short-term exchanges to the United States of America by New Zealand academics, artists or professionals:
Fulbright New Zealand Travel Awards
These awards, valued at up to NZ$5,000, are for New Zealand academics, artists or professionals to visit the US for 12 to 90 days in order to present their work to American audiences. Approximately twelve awards are offered each year. Recent grantees have included academic experts in information technology, film history, greenhouse gasses and blended secondary/tertiary education, who will present their work at conferences and lectures in the US.

Fulbright-Ngã Pae o te Mãramatanga Travel Awards in Indigenous Development

These awards, valued at up to NZ$5,000, are for New Zealand academics, artists or professionals to visit the US for 12 to 90 days in order to present their work on a theme of indigenous development to American audiences. A small number of awards are granted each year. Recent grantees include Pefi Kingi from Auckland, who will present her work on developing a quality assurance framework for Pacific cultural practices in healthcare at a conference in Hawai‘i.

In addition, New Zealand institutions are invited to apply to host visiting American academics, artists or professionals on short-term exchanges to New Zealand:
Fulbright Specialist Awards
These awards, valued at up to NZ$8,400 plus travel expenses, are for New Zealand academic institutions to host US academics, artists or professionals for two to six week programmes of lectures, seminars, workshops, conferences or symposiums. Up to six awards are granted each year. Recent recipients of awards to host visiting Fulbright Specialists include the New Zealand School of Dance, who are currently hosting American dance tutor Richard Chen See; and Wintec, who will host youth suicide prevention expert Hatim Omar from the University of Kentucky.
